How did you become a Trubie?

I was living and going to school out of state when my sister, Missie, discovered the show. She kept telling me how much I would like it, but I didn't have HBO, so I didn't watch. When I moved back home in 2009, one of the first things we did was stay up all night and watch all twelve episodes of the first season on HBO's On Demand so I could catch up for season two. I've been hooked ever since.

What is your favorite thing about this show?

I love the surprises! It amazes me that I can still be shocked by this show and the twists and turns that it takes. I also love that my sister, my brother, and my brother-in-law and I have all bonded over the show along with so many of my good friends. We can talk for days and days about each episode, the news bits we get before the show, and of course, the books. Of course, looking at Alexander Skarsgard every Sunday doesn't hurt, either! I have to say my favorite thing we've done so far was The Ultimate Fan Experience. As much as I love to film, if you watch the video from that night, it's so short. We were far too absorbed in what was going on to worry about filming!

How did this site come about?

We had been videoing our reactions to each episode for awhile, so I started this site to have a place to put all the videos. At the time, I was still loading each of the videos to my personal YouTube site and they were getting buried among all the family videos of birthdays, Christmas, and random other videos I made with my husband, so I wanted one place to put them all. Recently, we decided to also make this a one-stop place to find True Blood news, spoilers, interviews, and pictures, as well. This site is growing and is in its earliest stages of work, so I hope to make it a great site for Trubies to enjoy!

How did you come across the Charlaine Harris books?

At the end of season two, I just wanted more. Missie had read the first two books, but was afraid to read ahead of the seasons. I had no such qualms. I ordered the nine books that had been released and devoured them in a little over a week. Since then, it's become a tradition: Missie pre-orders each new book for my birthday in April and I get the new book in May. I have one night to read them and then I have to turn the book over to Missie, who also gets one night. Then the weeks and weeks of discussion begins!

How did you become a Trubie?

My husband, David, and I watched a movie on HBO and saw the previews for the first season of True Blood, and because I had just read all the Twilight series and I missed it, I wanted to watch a new vampire show. The show looked more like Anne Rice kind of vampires, so David was interested. We decided to give it a shot, and within the first few minutes of the first episode, we were hooked!

What is your favorite thing about this show?
It keeps me guessing constantly. I never know what's coming, as much as I sometimes think I do. I read the books, so I basically know the whole outline of the seasons, but they keep me guessing so much I'm ready to pull my hair out! It's also really funny. It has introduced me to a lot of new kinds of supes in ways that most television shows don't, like the fairies and shifters. And I love the characters.

What do you like about making episode reaction videos?

I like spending time with my sister and talking about the show. I like to get her in-depth opinion and I never realized how goofy we were until I saw us on video! I also love hearing other people's opinions on the same thing, since so many people see the same episode differently. I also like yelling at the makers of the show and trying to bend them to my will! It also gives us something to do while we wait for the next episode because that can be so difficult. Once April gets here and we order the book, we go into extreme True Blood mode and are going crazy. Even between episodes gets hard! These videos give us a whole new way to experience the show that we didn't have before.
How did you come across the Charlaine Harris books?

After the first episode I watched, I saw in the credits that the show was based on books by Charlaine Harris. I screamed to David, "Oh my God, there's books!" So I went online and wrote down the order of the books and got the first one the next day. I read it all by the second episode. David wouldn't let me read book two because he didn't want me to spoil things, since I knew about Sam being a shifter from reading. After that, I didn't read any more until Carissa did, then I borrowed them from her and read them all in about a week or so.
